CHA, CHS, & CHT Examinations

The ACHI CHA, CHS, and CHT Examinations are designed to assess the foundational and advanced knowledge required for certification as a Certified Histocompatibility Associate (CHA), Certified Histocompatibility Specialist (CHS), or Certified Histocompatibility Technologist (CHT). Examinations for the CHA, CHS, and CHT will be offered twice annually, in May and November.

Dates for the 2026 application cycle are as follows:
SPRING 2026
Examination Dates: May 1 to 31, 2026
Application Start: January 15, 2026
Application End: February 15, 2026
FALL 2026
Examination Dates: November 1 to 30, 2026
Application Start: June 15, 2026
Application End: July 15, 2026
Examination Fees:
  • CHA / CHT Exam Fee: $245
  • CHS Exam Fee: $275
